Types of LED Screens: Which One Do You Need?
Before purchasing an LED screen, it's important to understand its type—this will determine the price, service life, and how the screen will look in your space or on your façade.
1. Interior screens and video walls
For areas where the screen is viewed from close range: conference rooms, meeting rooms, TV studios, control rooms, and reception areas. 2. Outdoor screens
Designed for 24/7 operation in any weather: IP65 water resistance and higher, brightness of 5000–8000 cd/m²—the image remains vibrant in direct sunlight, where a conventional TV would fade. 3. Media facades
Lightweight translucent structures for glazing or solid building walls. Transparency up to 70%—people can see the street from the inside, while a huge advertising surface is displayed on the outside. Three to four times lighter than traditional cabinets, the mesh structure allows wind to pass through and does not create a "sail" effect on the façade.
4. Screens for stages and events

LED Screen Price: What to Look for in an Estimate
1. Pixel pitch
The distance between the centers of adjacent diodes is the main factor in price. The selection rule is simple: the minimum viewing distance in meters equals the pixel pitch in millimeters. A P3 screen is comfortably viewed from three meters away, a P10 from ten. Paying for a smaller pitch than your room requires is wasting money on a resolution the eye won't see.
2. LED type
DIP — an old type of three separate diodes: bright and durable, but with a large pitch, only for huge outdoor screens. SMD — three crystals in one housing, the most popular standard with excellent color rendering and wide viewing angles. COB — cutting-edge technology: the crystals are encapsulated in a protective compound directly on the board, resulting in a perfectly smooth, wipe-clean, and impact-resistant surface. We use COB technology to produce screens with a pitch starting from 0.56 mm.
3. Refresh rate
Cheap screens operate at 1920 Hz: the human eye doesn't notice the flickering, but any smartphone camera will turn it into stripes. Anything guests or visitors take pictures of in front of your screen will look flawed. We use control chips with a frequency of 3840 Hz and higher—the picture is clear even when filming in slow motion.
LED Screen Installation: From Project to First Launch
LED screen installation is a highly demanding construction and installation project, and we offer a full-cycle service:
- Design of metal structures: We calculate wind and snow loads and develop KM and KMD sections—the screen is guaranteed not to fall or damage the façade or wall.
- Electrical project: A 50 m² screen can consume up to 40 kW. We design and assemble power cabinets with phase imbalance protection and remote power management.
- Assembly and adjustment: We join the cabinets using laser levels with micro-adjustment along three axes—the seams between the cabinets are invisible, the plane is perfect.
- Setting up the video path: We configure the NovaStar and Colorlight controllers, set the gamma correction and white balance so that white is white and not bluish.
Warranty and spare modules from the same batch
LEDs have a lifespan of 100,000 hours, but defects do happen, and how they're repaired is crucial. We supply a ZIP kit with every screen: 3-5% spare modules, power supplies, and ribbon cables from the same production batch—the spare module is the same shade as the main screen, and the patch is invisible. For wall-mounted screens, we use cabinets with front magnetic access: module replacement takes half a minute without dismantling the structure. Frequently asked questions
The rule is simple: the minimum viewing distance in meters equals the pixel pitch in millimeters. For viewing from three meters away, P2.5 is sufficient; from ten meters away, P10 is sufficient, and overpaying for a smaller pitch won't make a visible difference. Errors in both directions cost money: too large a pitch results in a "pixelated mess" up close, while too small a pitch costs hundreds of thousands more for a resolution the eye won't see. We select the pitch based on the actual room geometry during the on-site visit.
This low refresh rate is a sign of cheap control chips. An outdoor screen or media façade is both a wind-loaded structure and an advertising medium: a metal structure design (KM/KMD), an electrical design, and, for advertising surfaces, approval from city authorities are required. We develop the design and work in conjunction with specialized contractors specializing in high-rise work—a single, responsible contractor for you.
The price consists of three components: the screen (depending on the area and pixel pitch), the metal structure including installation, and commissioning with video setup.
